28 09 2005Brasileirinho this evening in Brussels. Brasileirinho is the new movie of Mika Kaurismäki, who you might remember of Moro no Brasil, the musical journey that goes deep in the heart of Brazil.
Waltzing is back in fashion, and as a conequence so will be the Choro music featured in the movie. Choro was born in Rio at the end of the 19th century and is a synthesis of imported European salon dances like polka, quadrille and waltz, synchronized to the rythms of black-Brazilian rythms. A must-see if you want to get a feel of Brazilian culture.
