dinner with Bruna yesterday, we discussed Sao Paulo. One of the things that is high on my list to shoot is SESC Pompeia in Sao Paulo and visit the exhibitions ‘The Overexcited Body’ and ‘Terra Paulista’.
But what’s absolutely high on my visit list is the rooftop swimming pool on 24 de Maio St, 300 m from the Municipal Opera house.
And that’s not only because Paulo Mendes da Rocha, the man who constructed the rooftop pool, is one of my favorite architects.
It’s just because the swimming pool makes the ideal location for a shooting set that has been lingering in my mind for years now. Remember triphop Telepopmusik track ‘Breathe’, the guy jumping in the swimming pool in the clip? Exactly the scape I have in mind, but make that the Jori Hulkkonnen remix of the track.
