30 01 2006Les Chiroux in Liège, Belgium. This year Brasil is the central theme; not less then 15 exhibitions will take place from February 19th till April 12th.
If you live in Belgium or nearby, don’t miss Luiz Braga who’s work I discovered in MAM last December, Joao Roberto Ripper, Penna Prearo and my alltime favorite Brasilian photographer: André Cypriano. Personally I’m not really sure if their work is truly representative for “Brasilian life”; but when it comes to style of photography I certainly prefer their work on the photography of Belgian Patrick De Spiegelaere. I presume my Brasilian friends find most European movies boring for the same reasons as I find Patrick’s work not very inspiring; I’m especially referring to his latest series which was featured in De Morgen this weekend.
Time to go back and continu building my own portfolio in my spare time. Just need to learn to carry my camera in a backpack whenever it matters
