Computers and technology are freaking expensive in Brazil. And yes, 4 weeks before we leave to Belgium my laptop has a flickering screen.
It started this morning: horizontal flickering lines appearing on the LCD screen of my laptop, suddenly getting worse. Rebooting didn’t help. Putting the AC in and out helped for a few seconds: when putting AC in the screen remained stable for a few seconds. Then everything went a bit more stable, with sudden hickups. Now I have turned hardware accelartion one grade down and all seems a bit better. Anybody has a clue what this problem could be?

How old is the laptop? That shouldn’t happen in a new one.
11 months old Dell Inspiron. Did a test and indeed: the LCD failed. Just boughtan exterrnal LCD screen and Qwert keyboard (horror); stupid since I´ll be in Belgium for while from December 28 on.
Anybody who´s in for a nice near-new Philips 170S: scream.
