Uncontacted tribes, with no links (by choice) with the “civilized world”; they have become very rare; most of them are based in Latin America, a few in Azia.

Yesterday, this extraordinary film footage narrated by movie star Gillian Anderson was launched of one of the Brazilian uncontacted tribes in the Amazon.. The footage was filmed by the BBC in collaboration with the Brazilian government, for the new BBC 1 ‘Human Planet’ series. Pictures here.
A map on the locations of these tribes can be seen here.

The movie was made in collaboration between the Brazilian government and BBC in order to put pressure on the government of Peru to protect these last uncontacted tribes. They are under threat of illegal lodgers coming from Peru.
